Hello world!

This is the beginning of a life long immersion in sub-cultures and manifesting in this blog.  We invite all to wax nostalgic with the Y.R.W. guys and build a community of old farts, and hopefully some new young bucks, who won’t let go of a better time.  This is more than music of those golden years, although it will be a large part of this experiment, it’s about what it was like living it, eating it all in and the insatiable appetite for more.  Today most sub-cultures are but hollow shells of their former selves, the insides sucked out by marauding corporations (big and you too small “indie” guys!), breakdown of entry barriers (that’s gonna be another post) and the increased speed & availability of  information exchange in today’s world (another double edged sword to be discussed later).

We hope to entertain, provoke, instigate and mainly bring back some of those good old feelings.  To all nod our heads to the beat and be left with jaws on the floor by real wordplay.  Let’s have standards again for the things we consume with our hard earned money; let’s D.I.O. (Do IT Ourselves) when possible, after all that’s how it all began anyways.
